June Jordan Roundtable

October 23 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Difficult Miracle: The Living Legacy of June Jordan is the first of two roundtables celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of the arrival of June Jordan’s papers at the Schlesinger Library at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, as well as the recent founding of the June Jordan Fellowship at Columbia University. In the spirit of Jordan’s example, this roundtable will be comprised of artists, organizers, and scholars alike, and will be open to the broader NYC community. The roundtable will serve as a space of interdisciplinary, intergenerational dialogue and collective imagining, as well as a venue in which work that transgresses such boundaries can be shared and ultimately amplified. By examining the instruments of social and political transformation that Jordan left behind, we mean not only celebrate her legacy as a thinker, but to collaborate toward a more robust vision of what such a legacy makes possible in the present.

Participants: Zora Howard, Rachel Eliza Griffiths, Evie Shockley.

October 23rd from 6pm-8pm. It will be held in the Event Oval at Barnard College.
