Celebration Week is a preview of how Women Building Up (WBU) can and will convene activists and organizers across multiple social justice communities to gather in solidarity and build a dignified and just world for justice-impacted women, girls, and gender-expansive people.

Celebration Week consists of two free public events: Moving In Solidarity (September 21) and Community Open House (September 24). Both events will take place downtown Brooklyn at the WBU headquarters (located at 401 State Street | Brooklyn, NY 11217).

Event #2: Community Open House

This free open house will feature food, live music, and fellowship. The free event will also feature a conversation about art across boundaries with Katie Yamasaki, artist and creator of the stunning WBU mural, “We Are the Ones We’ve Been Waiting For,” at 401 State Street.
