Beyond the Bars Fellows participate in solidarity projects each year, partnering with local organizations to support their work

On Thursday, March 27th, the Beyond the Bars Fellowship at the Center for Justice partnered with Women Building Up to present a panel discussion entitled Building Women’s Economic Power. On the panel was Miyhosi Benton, Sharon Richardson and Ghania Miller, three dynamic formerly incarcerated women who have overcome tremendous odds to become leaders, entrepreneurs and a source of strength and empowerment for women impacted by the criminal legal system. The moderators were current fellows Jasmine Merritt, Jordana Suriel and Victoria Kurtz. The conversation and questions were engaging and thought provoking. This event was a part of the solidarity projects that fellows engage in each cohort where they partner with a local organization to support their work.
