CfJ Trip to New Orleans

June 23, 2025

The full cohort of our Collective Leadership Institute Alumni Network Cohort convened in New Orleans for a powerful and inspiring series of engagements.

From June 18–21, the three principal staff leading our Collective Leadership Institute Alumni Network Cohort (ANC) project convened with the full ANC cohort in New Orleans for a powerful and inspiring series of engagements.

Key highlights included a visit to VOTE (Voices of the Experienced), where the team met with Policy Director Ron Marshall to learn about VOTE’s work restoring the civil and human rights of individuals impacted by the criminal legal system, and its efforts to promote public safety without mass incarceration.

On Friday, the group visited Women With a Vision, an organization advancing harm reduction and decriminalization for sex workers. The team explored the organization’s partnership with city government.

That evening, the cohort attended CLI alumna Fox Rich’s event, the Sneaker Ball: Freedom for All, celebrating community resilience and advocacy.
