Degrees of Freedom Wins Award at the CUNY Film Festival

Our short documentary Degrees of Freedom screened this past week at the annual CUNY Film Festival and won the award for Best Long Form Film. 

Degrees of Freedom tells the story of how women incarcerated at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility were determined to continue their education on their own terms after tough-on-crime laws of the 1990s eliminated college programs in prison overnight. 

The documentary premiered at the Dances With Films Festival in New York in December 2024 and has since been accepted to and screened at multiple other festivals since then.
